Cherokee Bible library
About this library
A quiet place to read Cherokee Scripture and build a source-led learning practice.
This library brings together a historical New Testament, contextual word study, scaffolded reading, introductory language guidance, and historical resources. It is designed to be useful on a phone, easy to read at a larger type size, and transparent about the limits of its evidence.
What is available
- The full historical Cherokee New Testament in syllabary.
- A growing set of attested vocabulary entries with contextual glosses.
- A concordance of written forms across the New Testament.
- Six progressively longer guided reading chapters.
- Introductory grammar-study guidance and links to Cherokee Nation resources.
What is still developing
A substantially larger, linguistically reviewed lexicon; additional historical-source comparisons; further reading lessons; and a fuller translation-history timeline. No unavailable recordings, unverified translations, or empty dictionary entries are presented as finished resources.
A design for reading
The visual design uses quiet woodland colors and a clear reading layout. It does not reproduce sacred imagery, present invented designs as traditional, or claim to represent all Cherokee visual traditions.
